Where to park in Odéon-théâtre de l'Europe

You can park more easily near the theatre by reserving your space at the nearby École de médecine car park or at the Lagrange-Maubert car park in advance

The Odéon Theatre opened in 1782. This is the oldest historical theatre in Paris. Located in the heart of Paris's sixth district, it takes up almost all of the small square known as Place de l'Odéon, a convergence point of numerous small streets where parking is virtually impossible. Parclick recommends that you book your parking space in the École de médecine car park near the Odéon-théâtre de l'Europe or in the Lagrange-Maubert car park in advance. Just five minutes away, these car parks offer 3 and 4-hour parking passes which are just right for an evening at the theatre followed by supper.
Founded with the aim of providing the "Comédiens ordinaires du Roi" (official state-sponsored actors) with a sufficiently spacious performance venue, the Théâtre de l'Odéon was the first theatre in France to host performances by Shakespeare in English from 1827 onwards. In the early 20th century, its managers Antoine and Gémier extended the repertoire to other foreign authors such as Tolstoy, Ibsen and Strindberg. Under J-L Barrault, the Odéon welcomed most of the performances from the Theatre of Nations such as for example The Idiot presented by the Gorky Theatre of Leningrad. From 1983-84, following an idea by Giorgio Strehler, the Odéon devoted half of its performance programme to European productions.
On June 1 1990, the theatre was renamed Odéon-théâtre de l'Europe. Its role is to favour cooperation between European producers, actors and writers to create new works and to inject fresh dynamism into Europe's artistic heritage. Since then, the theatre's fans have had the opportunity to see subtitled works and performances in their original languages, by Deborah Warner, Lluis Pasqual, Andrzej Wajda, Robert Wilson, Luca Ronconi, Anatoli Vassiliev, Thomas Ostermeier and many others … So be sure not to miss the start of your performance at the Odéon-théâtre de l'Europe, by booking your parking space in advance, via our website.

The QR code has never worked in the many times we have parked here but the staff are helpful at sorting this out. Would be nice if you could fix this though as it is quite annoying. Lift is broken half the time.
