Created for the Colonial Exhibition of 1931 with the aim of showing the public the aquatic fauna of the colonies, the Palais de la Porte Dorée’s Tropical Aquarium today features approximately 5000 animals and 300 species. Come along and see the primitive fish, the piranhas and sharks, and many other species originating from Asia, Africa or South America. Not forgetting of course the alligator pool which is widely considered as one of the finest in Europe. The Palais de la Porte Dorée and the Tropical Aquarium are open from Tuesday to Friday from 10 AM to 5:30 PM and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 7 PM. Possibility to purchase a ticket which also provides admission to the Musée de l'histoire de l'immigration (Museum of Immigration History).
