From October 9, 2013 to July 6, 2014, the Musée Dapper (which specialises in African art) is proposing a temporary exhibition to help you discover the initiation rites of the Congo. For the Africans, these ancient rites are a compulsory step to reach a particular position. The best known are the rites of passage to mark a person's coming of age but there are also rituals to accompany birth, death and other changes in status. The works presented by the Initiés, bassin du Congo exhibition are mainly masks, statues and costumes related to the experiences of teenagers and adult males when forging an identity, a status and a place in society. The items displayed come from private and public collections which bear witness to the richness of cultures in the Republic of the Congo and the exceptional skill of the sculptors.

Don't miss this exceptional exhibition ! To enjoy your visit with total peace of mind, ParkingsdeParis.com recommends that you book your parking space right away : the Étoile Foch car park is less than a 5-minute walk from the Musée Dapper.
