The Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine (Architecture & Heritage Centre) offers the opportunity to discover, through an exhibition, a Flamboyant Gothic masterpiece. The Royal Monastery of Brou, located in the Ain département and founded in 1504 by Margaret of Austria, will be on display at the Palais de Chaillot through a collection of moldings of sculptures and ornamental details from royal tombs crafted in the early 16th century. Those moldings show the astonishing quality of these sculptures whose complex volumes required the use of gelatin in order to be impressed. They also show the importance given, in the early 20th century, to plaster moldings which, like photography, allows the traffic of models. Don’t miss this exhibition to discover some of France’s historical architectural heritage’s little-known jewels !For further information : State of Grace… Sculptures from the Royal Monastery of Brou
